FreeBG Pro Tools Suite — Open-Source AI Photo Editing APIs
I am building a free, open-source suite of professional AI photo editing tools as a side project — the same tools Canva charges $15/month for — but available as free APIs on Hugging Face for developers, students, and small businesses who cannot afford premium subscriptions.
The suite currently includes:

FreeBG — Background Remover (3 AI models: U2-Net, BiRefNet, BRIA RMBG-2.0)
FreeME — Magic Eraser (LaMa + SD1.5 inpainting)
FreeMG — Magic Grab (SAM2.1 segmentation + SDXL inpainting) ← needs GPU

Magic Grab requires a GPU to run SAM2.1-hiera-large (segmentation) + SDXL inpainting. On CPU it takes 3–5 minutes per image which makes it unusable in practice. With a T4 GPU it runs in under 10 seconds.
This is a fully open-source personal project. All code is public. The goal is to democratize professional photo editing tools for developers and creators worldwide who cannot access paid tools. I am not charging users — this is community work.
I would be deeply grateful for a community GPU grant (T4 small is sufficient). Thank you for considering this application.
